Promote the prevention of equine abuse and suffering, and to rescue those equines that have fallen victim to cruelty, abuse, neglect, starvation and/or abandonment.
Provide equine rescue, rehabilitation, education and adoption services within the state of Alabama
Provide assistance to law enforcement and animals agencies with cruelty investigations, as well as the care and placement of equines
Obtain legal guardianship of these equines, with the goal to place them in a loving, approved, suit-able new home
To assist others with education of proper equine care in the hopes of preventing abuse or neglect to these equines
To promote and teach horse care and humane, natural methods of training horses
To maintain a sound and reliable fund raising program for long term survival of DTHR
